Holiday Horse

Well, I've been really bad at keeping up with my drawing recently, and even worse at blogging about it - but here's a pic I did on holiday. I always hopefully pack my drawing book in the suitcase everytime I go away, and as often as not bring it home just as pristine as when we we left, so then fact I got one drawing done this time is an achievement! This is the ceramic horse who sat in our Tower window, he was electric blue and utterly fab - if only I'd taken my paints with me!

Ordered myself a nice shiny new sketchbook from amazon and I've been drawing every day since.

This is the card I made for Tony's birthday, It's me and him as Brett and Jermaine from Flight of the Conchords, only with a guitar hero controller and a ukelele (a spongebob square pants flying-V no less!) 'cause thats what he got for his birthday

End of a sketchbook

Well, I 've still been drawing it got a bit wonky there for a bit, I wasn't drawing everyday, but then I realised there were only a few pages left in my moleskine and got a second wind!

It was intentional at first to just concentrate on the drawing, but my first forays into colour are making me happy, and I think I'm going to make the effort to break out my colour pencils more often!

Learning to see

So, after years of moaning, berating myself for not living up to my creative potential In the last few weeks I've started drawing again and it's making me very happy!
I picked up Danny Gregory's book The creative licence and it's been really inspiring.
